Stage description
This is a highly appealing stage between two old and beautiful towns. The E1 leaves the Altstadtinsel, the old 'island' part of Ratzeburg, heading south-east across a dam. It continues along the east bank of the Küchensee. The trail has many ups and downs as it passes through extensive forest sections. Just before Mölln the path passes a gun club, with the appropriate background noises: not for hikers with weak nerves ...
Before the E1 follows some steps down town the old part of Mölln, there is a wonderful panoramic view of the townscape, dominated by the St. Nicolai Kirche (the church of St. Nicholas). At the bottom of the church there is the famous Eulenspiegel Fountain of Till Eulenspiegel, the legendary 14th century trickster who lived in the town.
The E1, E6 and E9 long-distance paths all follow the course of this stage.

Sights
Please note: Until now the information for sights is not available in english language. For this reason, the german text is displayed:
Ratzeburger Dom
